• STEP 1 (SELECT YOUR MATERIALS AND SIZING): Choose a wood type for your box, the thickness of your ring band insert, and the number of sides of the box you’d like engraved. For single-side engravings, the engraving will be placed on the face of the box with the hinge to the left unless it is specifically requested to be placed on the opposite side.

• STEP 2 (PROVIDE DETAILS & TEXT): Choose from our hand-selected font options. Enter the names, wedding date, initials, or custom phrase/image you want us to engrave in the personalization box at checkout. If you prefer a completely plain wood box, simply type "No Engraving."

• STEP 3 (FAST DESIGN MOCKUP): We will send a digital mockup of your engraving via Etsy Messages within 24 hours of purchase.

• MAX RING CAPACITY: Designed to securely hold rings with a band width up to 8 mm thick, and setting up to 9/16" wide and 1-1/8"H. The oval-shaped hole carved into the ring box lid is approximately 3/8" deep.

We are Melissa and Jiun, a Southern California-based couple who hand-cut, engrave, and assemble every single piece in our workshop to order. The word "Wanderweg" translates to "hiking trail" or "path" in German. We got engaged while hiking a “wanderweg” in the Swiss Alps, which inspired us to start crafting travel-friendly, personalized keepsakes for life's biggest milestones. We are deeply honored to play a small part in your path together.

* Please note: Every box is completely unique and will feature natural variations in the wood’s color, grain pattern, and character.

** Walnut can vary from a light brown to a dark brown tone and engraves a dark brown. Engravings on Walnut can appear more subtle with a dark brown engraving on dark brown wood. Purpleheart can also appear more subtle with a dark purple engraving on dark purple wood. If you prefer an engraving with contrast we recommend Mahogany as it engraves almost black on a medium tone wood. Cherry and Maple also have good contrast in the engraving and wood tone. Engravings on Oak can appear striped with bands of dark and light engraving as the different gain lines engrave differently.
